Troubleshooting Incompatibility

If your trainer isn't listed above or isn't discoverable, it might require a firmware update to enable FTMS compatibility. For example, Wahoo added FTMS support to the Kickr Core 2019 with a firmware update in 2021 (version 1.1.1). We recommend checking for and installing the latest firmware for your trainer—it's a good practice to keep it up-to-date for optimal performance.

Our Recommendation

For the best experience, we highly recommend newer Wahoo models. During our testing, Wahoo trainers consistently delivered outstanding performance with no compatibility issues. The ERG mode on Wahoo trainers, in particular, is exceptionally smooth, making it a great choice for precision training. Models like the Wahoo Kickr (2020+) and Kickr Core (2020+) are excellent options for reliability and performance.
